Hi all

Hope someone can assist?

I have an integrated ariston fridge freezer model bcb 3111 that is just over 7 years old.

The freezer functions normally.

The fridge is cold but not cold enough for milk to stay fresh till it's use by date.

I clump of ice forms near the top of the inside of the fridge. Water gathers at the bottom of the fridge.

I have defrosted the fridge/freezer and also ensured that the water pipe at the back is unblocked. I have turned it back on. The problem repeats (temp not cold enough, ice forming at top of fridge, water gathering at bottom).

I almost bought a new unit yesterday but would like to try one last time to fix rather than replace.

Any advice very much appreciated.

Thanks
Bjorn

I had a similar problem with a fridge freezer, it turned out to be because the dog slept in front of the doors! At the bottom of the fridge was the cooling fins behind a smalll pull off vent panel which was covered in dog hair, after I spotted that, and a quick vacumme later, it worked properly for ages after that.

Could be a blocked condensor or a condensor fan that's packed up. Climb around the back, clean the condenserif there is one visible with a vacuum cleaner or brush and check the fan runs whenever the compressor is running.

If it's a single compressor model then it could also have a gas leak. If the freezer is fed first then it would still get cold but there would be insufficient gas to cool the fridge section.
