Hello everyone.
Just a quick one I hope.
Iv been asked by a client of mine to pull in power for 3 site cabins from a generator. The generator is a fg Wilson xd60p2 with an 83a output. Having only worked with generators while serving my time a few years ago and not worked with them since, I feel I need a little bit of guidance. Basically the question is, do I need to provide an earth for this generator via an earth rod? Or do I supply an earth to the distribution panel where I will be running the 3 lengths of 4.0mm 2core and earth from?
Any help greatly appreciated. Cheers.
I do have a picture of the spec on my phone but I don't know how to upload it from my phone to this post.

More info would be good. Is the genny for back-up power ie do the cabins have a DNO supply or is the the sole power supply. If there'sa DNO supply what earthing arrangement is it (TN-C-S, TT)? Will the cabins each have a CU with RDC protection? Is the genny 3-phase or single phase?

I'd say you'll probably need to put a rod in

As others have stated, need more information!! At least you're working with one of the better Generator manufacturers, F.G Wilson of Belfast!! We always use Wilson's for Prime power and MV set-ups...
