Hi so whats the best way to go about this?

Added 3 lighting points to an existing lighting circuit, the fuseboards old with no rcd.

Upon completion of testing , all tests okay apart from N-E on insulation test.

My additional wiring tests okay on everything but the existing circuit contains the fault

On my minor works can i just put down the test results for my additional wiring or does it have to be the whole circuit readings?

Should have made sure the circuit you were altering was OK to work on, sorry no excuses.

How many people fall into the trap of no test first, find a problem later then wonder how to get around it.

I have just had something like this recently. I did tests on circuit and got down to 4mohm on lighting. Meets regs no problem ? Client wants me to connect two three way switching cct up and down. I declined as I feel sure a few years down the line they will say "err your wirings gone wrong you better fix it for free"

you are accountable for the complete modified circuit.

I find it a bit concerning that you thought you could provide a cert for the addition not the whole circuit.

What other tests have you carried out.

You are worried what to put down for the IR test, the reading which we still don't know. If you are getting zero Meg what will you record for Zs because that will also be inaccurate as the R2 path also includes the neutral.

That's far too early on a Saturday to be submitting replies. What's the odds on ever finding out what these IR results are?
