Hi All, Thanks to all for the great advice and ive taken it onboard and going to wire timed bathroom fan by running 3 core/e from bathroom lightswitch where i can conect to L1(SL), COM(Perm L), N and E then run that 3 core/e cable to Fan Isolator and onto Fan giving me Sl/PL/N at the fan.

Is 3a FCU really needed or will Fan Iolator be ample?

Have i got it right finally ?:)

a fan isolator will be fine. extractor fans dont really use any power.

you have got it right go into bathroom turn lights on, fan comes on do what you need to do wash your hands turn lights off fan stays on afterwards for a few minutes.

Might be a bit behind with what has gone on , on this occasion you have been lucky that there is a neutral at the light switch , but normal there would not be one,, best option in future is to wire direct to light fitting and then to fan isolator then fan, this is based on a normal 3 plate system, Also if there is a window in the bathroom you dont need an isolator,, ( i prefer isolators at all times )
