Afternoon all,
I'm first fixing an alarm system............not brought the alarm yet. My question is, can I wire from the alarm panel 2 x remote keypads either separately or via the first keypad then onto the second keypad using 6 core cable.
Many years ago i used to Abercus alarms which were very good, easy to install and understand how to use. Each PIR only required 3 wires and you could install 2 x PIR's on one cable, but each one was easily identifiable on alarm panel if activated.
What are good makes of alarms these days? My customer (family member) wants keypad on landing as well as in hall. possibly fob type which I have never en-counted.
Your thoughts appreciated. Thanks

most systems have the keypads daisy chained on 4/6 core. generally there is a resistor fitted in the end one. look at texecom veritas , ADE, and gardtech600 panels.

the last one i installed just needed a pair and daisy chain if required
the panel had 2 dedicated terms panel went in bungalow roof space

All advice above is fine a 6/8 core to each or daisy chained....choice will be your design....suggest check on manufactures instructions to plan the route out.
