As stated, trying to install a pendant light from IKEA. It comes with a Wago thingy that states L/N. However, when removing my old pendant it was connected round a Choco block which has about 6 wires into it.

I am probably being really dumb, but how would I connect my new pendant onto this?

My last light pendant had the same two wires that go into this Wago block on my new pendant (blue and brown) which I know are the newer colours for black with red cover and other wires, but they were not in a Wago block and just wrapped around a couple screws next to the Choco Block.

Hi Andy Liam, welcome to the forum. You will have to clarify your competency, and there are forums rules on members giving step by step advice.

Firstly I hope those cables have been safely isolated? You might want to search the diy section, there are many such threads as yours, with varying levels of responses, about the same predicament you have.

As above you should be competent but this is how it needs to be done

3 reds needs to go together in a separate block, 2 blacks in the “N” and the black tagged red in the “L” all the bare copper cables need have Earth sleeving on and be separated into there own block.

To be honest if I was you I’d get an electrician in to sort it won’t take them long as less headache for you if something goes wrong.

He means that the earth wires need to be sleeved and connected together in their own block.

Listen, I might start chucking insults, like certain premia donna's on this forum, from a deposed forum :)

ooooooh... name names... I double dog dare you....
