Hi folks wonder if you can shed some advice too a newbie. Just started out on apprenticeship, getting tools bit by bit. Just acquired a Fluke 111 multimeter, discontinued now, but setting me up I'm not complaining! Really chuffed. Anyways, should this be calibrated regularly? Readings seem ok though. Will check with some of the guys at work tomorrow too... Any help, advice, much appreciated!

Technically yes, However what are you intending to use this for? If your currently in an apprenticeship then i guess money isnt great. Surely they provide the tools required for your day to days job.

It all really depends what work you are using it for, Paid Etc.. If your filling in certs and using the tester for results that will be going on the cert then yes. However if your just using it as a voltage tester and continuity tester mearly for basic testing then providing your happy with the results its giving you by checking them with another tester or invest in a basic check box then personally i wouldn't be bothering.

I have loads of testers but only tend my MFT calibrated on an an annual basis. Which to be honest is just like a car MOT. Only worth the paper its written on on the day of test.

However saying all this, after my recent NICEIC inspection my assessor said that a check box and regular log of results can do away with calibration however even so I still tend to get my unit calibrated annually.
