Hi all,

Recently, when needing to test earth fault loop impedance on a circuit with a RCBO/RCD my tester just reads >2000 for evert test, even when I know the R1+R2 and Ze are fine and when added together would be well within limits.

Is there something I can do to fix this or is it time for a new tester? (it was bought in 2010) My last calibration showed no problems, but this started afterwards.

Everything else tests as normal.

Hi, colleagues,
Usually low voltage on FLUKE batteries is leading to wrong test results, but recently we had an "Error" on display after trying to get reading for Ze and Zs on TN-S system in a high block of flats. Same result in the flats, same on the intake cables on ground floor with 2 x Fluke1653 testers. Unitest100 and Megger were working well - Ze=0.20 Ohms, but not by Fluke 1653 - Error!
Is there anyone knowing why is doing this problem and can it be solved, so we can continue using Fluke? I was expecting more from this make and model.
