Had some fog recently, well mist. You know, visibility down to about a mile, so of course on come the bloody foglights! Now front ones aren't so bad, usually less bright than those daytime running lights, which incidentally a lot of drivers don't seem to realise only work on the front of some cars, so they tootle around in the dark with no rear lights on. I digress. It's those rear foglights I hate. There are two kinds of user, the ones who put them on when it is foggy, then forget they're on, andbthose who put them on at the faintest hint of a slight mist. The book says they should be used when visibility is down to 100 yards, not 100 miles. There. I feel better now.

I sometimes flick the rear ones on if I’m being tailgated.....then watch in the mirror as their headlights get further away:D

Her indoors drives our car mainly. It has auto lights & daytime running lights. Rang her the other day, to make sure she remembered to turn on the car lights in heavy fog (daytime). 'How do I do that?'

Weird as years ago I had to drive up North for work on a regular basis and when driving past Fort Dunlop a lot of Nissan Sunny's and the like would have there fog lights on, must have been some sort of remote control thing from Dunlop.

Automatics and / or start stop engines. I always turn the stop start off, and if stopping for more than a few seconds into neutral and handbrake on.

Agree about fog lamps...but what about brake lights? Great when breaking but why do folks sit in traffic queues with their foot on the break, some blinding those behind. Use the bleedin' hand break....
As with most motorist they're just lazy - more so in an auto as they are so lard arsed (from not even pressing a clutch) they haven't the strength to go from D to P or Dcik to Pratt as I call it ;-)

Brake....We've broken up for a break.....but I broke my brake at break time.
ps. Just broke my pencil....

brake lights is just an awkward distraction.comin g backfrom peak district this afternoon, a snmall insignificant town calles Offerton. 7 miles of walking pace or less through the only way through it. locals have hung banners saying "STOP THE BYPASS". FFS. do they want to sit in traffic jams half their life?
