TJ Anderson, It won't if there is an bypass fitted as I posted above. The abv will be plumbed in before the valves so that it opens when the valves close.

Yes I am trying to add a a pipe stat as this is what exactly happened last Winter they couldn't understand why they couldn't turn the heating off, there is no bypass valve at the moment which I have told the customer this needs urgent attention by a plumber. This is where my problem lies as I have not got that far, there is an existing frost stat which was on the original system hard wired to the outhouse where the boiler is but when I connect it nothing works at all even my controls for the hot water system.Then you could end up with an unhappy customer complaining about their house being too hot. Avoid that by fitting a pipe stat on the return at the boiler in series with the frost stat.
