gas boiler volt free contact

Hi
I have to connect up a gas boiler and know how how to do it with a volt free room stat.
What I need to know is can I use the relay/switch on a motorised valve to control the boiler via the volt free contacts in the boiler,and use 220v room stats to control the valve.
Its a two zone system and I cant work out how to control 2 zones valves from a volt free room stat.

Yes you can use 230V stat to open valve and which in turn would close the valves switch giving you a volt free signal to the boiler. All sounds good mate.

if there's a lot of stats etc

i usually use 230v on the contacts and switch a relay

take the volt-free from that


less risky and eliminates induced voltage

Cheers ,I was a bit worried about induced voltage,there are 2 stats.I have done the job now anyway but Im back during the week so I might try that then.

it's usually an issue- if you try to put the volt free and supply onto the same multicore cable
