Gas cooker - mains lead for ignition and clock

I have just replaced my electric cooker for gas and now have the lead for the ignition and clock training along the worktop to the cooker isolater on the wall.

I am capable of doing the following, but would like confirmation.

I cannot just cut off the plug and wire directly into the dedicated 32amp supply, but can I wire either a 13amp socket or 13amp fused spur to this and then connect the cooker to this? This way, all wiring would be hidden by the cooker and keeps the other half happy.

By can I, I mean is it within the regulations to do this?

You can replace the existing cooker outlet plate with a socket but the circuit will require 30ma rcd protection if not already in place. Alternatively replace it with a fuse connection unit (13A spur) which will not require 30ma rcd protection generally. Fit a 3A fuse in both cases. If the cable at the outlet plate is above 6.0 then the above is not feasible.

american spellcheck. very little food goes into the dustbin ( that's why they are so fat) so dustbins are pi$$ed off and intrude into our posts.

Thanks for that. Cooker circuit is on RCD so will just go for the socket option.
