ground cable for power windows

hey guys sorry for the noob questions. im trying to convert my manual windows to power by using this guide. DIY: Power windows in a 96-00 civic DX
i have done everything except for grounding the cables and connecting a power source. I am currently stuck at grounding the cables. Do i cut the cable at the switch plug and ground them to the car or from the motor plug and ground them to the car (which connects to the switch)

any help is a appreciated. thanks

Those diagrams in colour,show where the grounding wires are. These need to be connected to the body or chassis. Do not connect these to the door body,where return path for current maybe oily hinge pins! just clean a small patch on door pillar say,and self-tapper a suitable ring terminal on.
