Got called to a job today and I was told the job was "to tidy up some cables" and then walked into this (See photo)

Oddly most of the cover and lids where still lying around it was almost as if as soon as the circuits were energized the job was considered done! 'Why bother screwing the covers back'?
Even more bizarrely the previous homeowner was supposedly a spark.

Why are there polystyrene balls spewing out of the hole in the wall with the cable going through it? You might want to check the condition of the cable insulation in the hole...

It's got good asthetic shock value with the various covers and finger guards strewn all over but it's lacking in depth of butchery and there's a handy isolator installed which makes a tidy up easy. Only 6 out of 10 from the African judge I'm afraid.

Customers going to wish they just had a board change now, its going to be more costly to put it right after DIY Dave has played sparky for a few quid.

Surely at least an 8/10

in his dreams ,if it was me .I would slapped his wife for letting him near it ,and I would kicked the cat or dog if they had one .and drown the gold fish .
Actually my sources for this guys career are pretty reliable, had a look in the garage as well and it was the Total opposite; pvc conduit wired in singles, lovely sets and bends, proper tidy job,
Really baffled as to what's happened.

FFS. will you please stop following my prime jobs and taking pics. no self respecting scouser would leave all that copper lying round.

Two blue tails [probably single insulated ?] to the one way CU which is also a stranger to IP ratings, I see one of them has been used as earth, no way did an electrician do this ??
