Hi all
Would anyone know if a new Hager RCBO would fit into one of these old Hager boards?
I have to do a small amount of work and there is no RCD protection.
Thanks
Malc

No I couldn't get to it. There is a soft top jag in the way! The husband died a couple of weeks ago. and the garage is full I had to zoom in to get this pic.
Thanks

There is already different ones in there Hager are quite good at updating but still new protective devices fitting in old style boards if in any doubt give them a call but as our Hager board at home the new ones fit in ok.

Fitted Hager ADN RCBO into old insulated CU. Fitted fine, but room for wiring/connections bit tight, so depends how the previous electrician dressed his/her cables inside CU.

Like the one below.

It was done about 20years ago. The electrician has been in the business a long time so I assume he did a good job.

Hager is one of my preferred makes of kit. They are quite good at ensuring compatibility between different parts and CU's.. They also have very good customer service so if in any doubt send them pictures or give them a calland they will tell you what is compatible and isn't.
Do shop around though as prices can vary quite a bit between suppliers

I would say it's more of a quality issue than cost went into wholesaler we use it was cheaper to buy MK unswitched socket for underneath worktop than basic range.

We test a lot of schools and a large percentage use the MK sockets with the outboard switches. I would not mind a pound for the amount I have replaced where they are cracked across the front plate or the switches are faulty.

Got to conclude they're not so good as they used to be the MK pull cord in our bathroom lasted 45 years. I think that they used to manufacturer all in the UK not know though. I suppose its due to pressures of competition.
