Hello everyone

Need a bit of advise I have been asked to install a bath in a room that was previously a wet room for a disabled person. Now as per usual the customers don't want to spend a lot of money.

At the moment there is an electric shower installed at a height of approximately 750mm to the bottom of the electric shower. and to get rid of the shower, the cold feed and the supply would mean removing a large area of tiles and causing a lot of damage.

Now the bath will be installed to a height of approx 530mm to the top of the bath. now can I leave the shower in place with it being that close to the bath.

Yes I know that it wont look pretty but their concern is cost not looks.

Cheers for advise.

Depends on the manufacturers instructions for the shower this may state a minimum height above the bath, try googling instruction manual 'type of shower'.
BS7671 wise an electric shower is allowed in zone 1 so would be OK but manufacturers instructions take precedence.
Just my thoughts not a definitive statement.

For a normal de-mountable shower head we usually aim to fix the top of the standard 600mm shower mounting rail at 2m from the floor of the bath tub, this allows a shower head height which will easily accommodate a range of people from <1.5m (5ft) to 2.1m (7ft) tall.
