hi everyone I not long finished college . i did a level 2 and 3 city and guilds, 17 edition , 2394, 2395 which i found challenging, i also have ECS card (adult trainee), have my own hand tools, can drive both car and truck (c license ). i have been applying for jobs i even offered to work for free a few days a week to get experience, but no one seems interested or some say im too old to be an apprentice (im 28) where am i going wrong ?
can someone enlighten me, thanks

i have tried looking but they always want some one with experience and my eperience is limited

Go on yell.com etc and put in "Electrical contactors" in your area. Then copy their email and/or address. Then send a cover letter/email with a copy of your CV. It might cost you a book or two of stamps but you only need one of them to reply, asking you to come for an interview. It is hard without experience but keep going, you never know.

i tried but they want 2 years experience

I actually started with an agency with pretty much no experience apart from coming from being an apprentice lift engineer, just blagged it to get my foot in the door as a sparks mate, ended up managing to get on to the adult traineeship with the company I was working with through the agency, there's always a way!

Blag it, do a week or two with an agency and they'll be phoning you every Friday with more work the following Monday when you show them you're a good little worker. Couple lads from college did that before Christmas and haven't been out of work since.
