I'm about to fit my first wireless thermostat but have no experience with wiring them. Can anyone recommend a decent wireless thermostat? It's for a Potterton Suprima so need one that's compatible.

Used quite a few siemens ones now, easy to link up and response is quick.

Wiring diagram will be supplied, very easy though L&N in switch line back to boiler on the reciever, mount the reciever close to your boiler, fit your stat/transmitter, link it up and away you go

There is also a manual adjustable timer on the wall next to the boiler, do I have to touch that at all?

It depends on what it's doing, is it not an old water/heating controller from an old system (assuming a combi upgrade here).

Salus rt500rf programmable or salus rt300rf digital are the best never had a problem with them and they have best signal, however siemens are total rubbish to be honest. depending on where you get them from, a jacksons (if you have an account and get discount e.g trade) salus are about £35 and siemens are about £40 +.
