Discuss Help to locate light. in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

Hi. Thanks for all the replies, especially the funny ones.
The hinge to the door has broke and I can't see how it could be repaired. So the customer has asked me to try to find one similar. She is Indian and I did wonder if she had brought it over from there?
The Taj Mahal did have a lamp post go missing back in 1972............

Depending on the metal a welder should be able to repair the hinge then a wire brush undercoat and lashings of Hammerite.......

Thanks for all the suggestions. I will look into seeing if anyone could repair it, but where I am sited is 40 years behind in technology!
Adam & SWD great links, they look the kind of thing.
I will see whether the customer wants to go repair or new.
Thanks
Malc

Where are you based Malc as someone with a welder could re do the hinge unless its rusted to hell, nice fitting to be honest.

I like that ornate as it is, it has an R63 or R80 lamp in it - the least ornate ever!
When I saw the photo that was all I could see, that bloody reflector lamp. Really annoyed me to the point I commented out loud to myself. Tell the customer off next time you are there.

I would be looking at repairing the broken fitting.
