Hi I hope someone could help. I’m currently going through my NVQ and I’m doing my last unit 318. Just struggling with this unit and the questions. 3.1 onwards. Is there anyone else who might be going through this or someone who might be able to help? Thanks

Put up the detail of what you’re having problems with & we can look to offer advice. Also think about joining the Trainee section?

Ok, that’s a start! Can you tell us the context of the questions i.e. is there any info prior to “The learner can...”?

So the outcome is - be able to correct faults on electrical systems and equipment

The unit is Diagnosing and correcting electrical faults in electrical systems and equipment in buildings, structures and the environment. Thanks

Portfolio , is more about that you have done this activity ?
(as 3.3 sounds more like design work-
unless its about. Not un-doing access considerations !)

Think of the procedure of emergency lighting testing and maintenance which would cover all of that 3.3 a good couple of photos and a write up of EM lighting tests and that’s taken care of.

Even changing a socket outlet would be a component of an electrotechnical installation.

Looks like it's just asking for evidence of repairing, replacing or removal of components or equipement. Provide evidence that you have spoken with the correct people and considered the implications (most of this will be in your RAMS)

Take pictures of you doing the work and reading bs7671, manufacturers instructions etc etc.

Basically make it easy for the assessor
