Hi I just bought this

SANDSTROM S42SWLH13 PREMIUM BLUETOOTH (Unboxed) | eBay

It doesnt come with the power adapter but after looking at the specs of it i found out that it is a 27V/2.5A 70W power adapter I need, This exact one

Sandstrom S42SWLH13 AC Adaptor | www.partmaster.co.uk

Problem is I dont realy fancy spending £40 on a power adapter (I will if I have to though)

So my question is would it work if I used a power supply that is 20V/3.5A 70W? The watts are the same so it would be ok wouldnt it? like this one

70W AC Adapter for Acer AL1512 AL1703 AL1714 AL1714CB-8 LCD Monitor Power Supply | eBay

Thanks in advance

James

Quite often the voltage supply is critical to the correct operation of the equipment.
Whilst the adapter you specify could supply the wattage requirements the voltage may well be too low to operate successfully.
I would try to find one that can supply the correct voltage and current (and therefore the wattage).
However it may work OK, but if not you may have lost your money and still have to buy the adapter.
However I might try to get one that is a least 24V as these are still readily available, but still may not work.
If you have a friend with a multi voltage power supply for a laptop then you could try that first! (so long as it can supply at least 70W):stooge_moe:

Use the correct voltage. Too low a voltage can cause not only poor performance but also damage, as some components can be overstressed trying to compensate for the incorrect supply.
