Have been looking at tools on eBay and strangely this popped up as recommendation.........

Judging by its popularity and the amount sold and number of people watching, this (IMO) gives an insight to the amount of non-electricians (no real electrician is going to be buying this!)who are meddling with electrics.....wonder if any of the 404 people who bought this will come on here asking for help?!

I see what you did then @KEV 1 N you bought a job lot of dodgy screwdrivers from aliexpress then mention them on here and get folk to buy them from your ebay page... very clever!
They are not quite as bad as these moody chinese testers though..

A few years ago due to the ceiling being lowered, I extended the wiring for a light above a shower cubicle. After the plasterer had been in I went back to Fit the light. The plumber was there looking all smug (he was qualified he said as he was Corgi registered for electric!) ‘your wiring doesn’t work mate’ he said and promptly pulled out his neon screwdriver to show me. Sure enough nothing... I said ‘you want to touch the bare wires then?’... ‘err.. no’ he said. I said ‘ you’re standing in a plastic shower tray you idiot’ he still didn’t get it... just goes to show though, the things are dangerous and can’t be trusted.
