Just seen in the screwfix catalougue Hitachi DV18DCL2/DS18DCL 18V Li-Ion Combi + Drill Driver Twin Pack | NoLinkingToThis.
Just wondered if anyone had any advice on these, are they a good purchase?? Always thought Hitachi was a good make but seems very cheap for both drills

i have to say HITACHI it's bad quality, build and powered, that's why it's cheap. I heard they had problems with the chucks and motors, and battery life it's bad as well. I had a set many years ago and just had a discussion lately with a guy from a tool shop (can say the name) and he was saying Hitachi has some batches of tools even worst quality than whatever you can find branded with Wickes etc

I will recommend looking at same rage with Makita

I have to say i have invested in a milwaukee 18v complete with 2X 3 ampere hour batteries. Use it pretty well each day. Had it over 2 years & no sign of any trouble. Cost around 300 quid would highly recommend this tool if your going to use it on a regular basis

my mate got one, only for diy at home. lightweight but feels very very plastic, get yourself something with metal gearbox and chuck if you planning doing hard work.
