To the home automation install guys, how much additional cost would this be on a new house.? New build 3 bed for example if normal rewire would cost say 5K how much would full home automation system cost.? Cheers

Depends on the system your installing . worked on a house with a rako system everything wired in cat5 back to server . cost a fortune . something like lightwave rf is completely wireless and costs little in comparison .

It depends what level of automation you want!
Zonal heating, shading, lighting, alarm, sensors etc and AV, and importantly the number of switched or dimming circuits and their types, phase dimming, PWM dimming, or DALI to name a few.
Additional cost could be anything from £3k for something simple, to £20k to include everything, but too many variations to give a ball park.

On a side note, Rako's wireless range is awesome, and often cheaper than their wired range! Does give the advantage of only paying for the circuits you need, rather than buy a batch of channels and not using half of them like other systems. Rako is also mainly for lighting and blind control, not so much home automation.
