Called out because the Honeywell digital timer(does ch & hot water)
blew up!! They've recently had a new combo boiler fitted.. Which is temporarily connected to
a supply but the timer etc has been left disconnected!!
Plumber thought there may be a faulty/damaged cable, But no breakers/RCD tripping.and the new boiler operating fine now
it's fed straight off the ring.
i guess by switching either the ch or the water on constant I should get 230v on the relevant terminals on the honeywell
connecting block but now it's knackered I don't. Thing is if I fit a new one I could
have the same problem. Any ideas? Apart from send the plumber back after dissing all the wiring

Shouldn't the plumber of had a single channel programmer and thermostat or programmable thermostat installed by an electrician to comply with part L (conservation of fuel and power) when he fitted the new boiler.

lol half the ones fitted on contracts (the eco and whatever its called) dont even have room stats, they relay on the boilers internal pipe stat and they dont even fit a programmer

Just test existing wiring and change the room stat to programmable R/S. All you'll need is a perm feed to the boiler and a pair from the stat.
