Hi I've got to go look at a job where the place got flooded about 3 weeks ago and as now all dried out but the sockets in 2 bedrooms and the kitchen are still tripping

just what'd to know where to start fault finding

Possibly is no fault just damp still and assumimg they are RCD protected then that is what is tripping them.

IR the circuits and see what the results are, if they are still low then pull the face plates down and dry with an hair dryer, as that's not hot enough to damge cables, if your use a paint scrapper type then be careful.

If you have a junction box hidden somewhere then you may have to improvise somewhat.

I would not bother messing around with hair dryers - I would just replace any that had the faintest chance of experiencing water ingress, particularly if they are just standard white ones.
