Discuss How do you test RCBO's Same as RCD's in the Periodic Inspection Reporting & Certification area at ElectriciansForums.net
Many thanks, I've just never thought about it. Should test sheets then say RCD / RCBO tests?Yes same way.
which test sheets. Many thanks, I've just never thought about it. Should test sheets then say RCD / RCBO tests?
you treat it has MCB but not MCB but RCBO.
May be a silly question but are rcbo's tested the same way as RCD's?
If you read the manufacturers leaflet that comes with them some require you to remove the earth fly lead prior to testing. i do it as a matter of course and have not actually checked to see if it affects results. I know with some it can affect loop impedance tests.
Have seen many a CU with them cut off mind!
yep , or is it 0010 nuwkie browns.*Bit drunk and can't recall whether it's 009 or 008
I was just thinking about a CU that only has rcbo's in it. Would each circuit be tested as an rcd. I've just never came across it and wanted to put it out for discussion. Why do you ask?
On the schedule of test results simply put 6100* instead of 60898/3036/etc etc. Obviously the x1 x5 results are on the far right hand side..

BS EN61009 RCBO
BS EN61008 RCD
yes is the answer.I was just thinking about a CU that only has rcbo's in it. Would each circuit be tested as an rcd.
Thank you so much for your help. Appreciated. You need to test the RCBO's before connecting the circuit ... Then take the Zs at the end of the circuit. Obviously you can't do global ir tests so ir tests on the circuit come before the Zs
