How long do jib cards take to get to you ?

Hi all
Just wondered how long the JIB cards take ? applied for mine 3-4weeks ago now and cant get through when i phone or they havent replied to emails ! just wondered as if they get a years membership it would be good to get a years membership & not say 11mths etc !
How long did you wait ?

JIB card normally last for 3 years but the H&S test you have to take to get it last only for 2

I've tried ringing and e-mailing.They are quick enough to bank your money thou.

Same here mate no reply from emails ! & phone calls just say were exp a high number of phonecalls or applications etc etc ! only time i got through some weeks ago this young girl answered but that was while the schools were off so dont know there mate just it seems to be a small outfit if they dont even have someone to answer calls/emails etc

Yippy !!!!!!!! just spoke to JIB and fear not ! they just have a slight backlog ! only takes 5-6weeks to get onto system then another 5-6weeks to process then they get your card done so ONLY takes 10-12 weeks now so all's well !
They cant answer my question though about does the card issue date go by the date you sign your card OR the date they issue it poss 3mths later ? so not sure but prob the date you sign it !
so mine is due hopefully by Jan 2010. YIPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE !

They are having a laugh.3 months to get your card through,is no good to anyone.I know that you can use your ECS cert and just take along photo ID with you to a job.

Thats what i did and quals/niceic DI membership cert for the job interview at Hays for the slough work !
Know what you mean buddy you would think they would get it sorted ! got an ID card from NICEIC through in 3days complete from pushing submit on form & downloading a pic ! i know its not jib but if they have let it get to the stage that it takes poss 3mths then theres a major floor in their system ! as i said even not answering emails or calls etc !
mabe thats a lesson ! apply for your replacement JIB card 3mths before it runs out !

They have an office in Sidcup,maybe they should open a few more around the country.

Sounds like a good idea and one next to the channel tunnel ! they would get loads of staff !

The Health and Safety certificate might only last for two years, but it's valid for while the card is valid. It just means that you have to apply for the card during the period that it's valid I presume. Anyway NVQs exempt you for I believe five years. Can't think of what the other exemptions are off the top of my head.
