It just doesn't seem right, does it?
It almost seems lazy!

Came across a few porcelain ones in old lighting JBs.

Porcelain ones are still commonly used inside appliances where's there's high temperatures. I'm also not keen on them but I still have a trust issue with Wago type connectors as well, they just don't seem a very stable connection to me.

Still widely used on American Shredders, Not surprising really considering they are still using Imperial Nuts and Bolts.

Oops, naughty boy. Pete's not going to be happy with you:)

The connectors they're showing are called Wire nuts & if used properly, actually work well. I've got a box of various sizes in my spares kit, they're used a lot in multi light fittings, ceiling fans & some machines etc. They used to be used over here years ago, but were made of porcelain & branded Scruit connectors.

Ideal make some I've seen in the wholesalers - I still wouldn't!
Edit - as above, I didn't click on link

Nice Spin: Don't know why you'd need a nutdriver to fit them though, unless that's just the larger sizes. They're easy enough to use with just your fingers & seem to make a good connection.

I was taught never to twist solid conductors together.
So, you'll never get me up in one of those!

No wonder they have so many fires!!

Really?

Considering how many circuits in a house / building and how many buildings there are in the Country there must be hundreds of millions of these connectors around.
I doubt the percentage of fires down to correctly installed connectors is any higher than here.

And as above somewhere, I'm not convinced Wagos aren't a time bomb waiting to happen.
