Discuss Hydraulic Pressure Valve Controlled By 4-20mA Signal in the Commercial Electrical Advice area at ElectriciansForums.net

Hi All,

I want to replace a manual hydraulic pressure valve with a valve that can be controlled with a 4-20mA signal. The pressure will be monitored by a gauge which will correct the pressure if necessary. Has anyone ever seen such a valve and can recommend a model/make?

If the hydraulic motor has a VSD control you can probably get a pressure sensor to directly control the motor via a 0-10v or 4-20mA signal to maintain a given pressure this will be an accurate way of doing it but if you have a wide birth re' the target pressure cheaper options will be available

i believe want you want is a hydraulic proportional valve, google this will point you in the right direction, as mentioned bosh rexroth a likely source

could always open the field with a signal converter me thinks but a possible £100 to do this so unsure if it will be cost effective

thanks guys, had a look on Bosch site and guy going to call in next week to look at application. I'm sure he will point me in right direction...

gerard,
What is his name mate I may know him personally, IF he is a BR sales guy as I worked there for several years on the electrical & hydraulic sides of the business.
If you don't want to post his name in open forum, please PM?
I do know many of they guys that are still there.
