Discuss I can now do a junction "box" mf in 20 secs, switch loop and feed in the Electrical Tools and Products area at ElectriciansForums.net
Well it certainly isn't me.room for one tool tart
Exactly my thoughts....9/10 times you would never have enough slack on the switch wire as it terminates at the wrong end IMO.I honestly can't see where I would use them. Even if I got called out to change a 3 plated pendant to a decorative light as the switch cable goes into the opposite end to the feed so there probably wouldn't be enough slack on the cables to terminate it anyway.
The idea is great though.
I think you and others may be right if you only look at the product as what it is presented as. I have been thinking of how I may use this and for instance the splitter could be used to tap into an existing circuit to feed an extension for instance. I seem to be doing quite a few extensions lately. I am also thinking it may be of use in altering existing circuits to add more lights. The other day I had to wago a switch and feed and a feed to outside lights. I had plenty of cable to do the connections as it was a new install on an extension. Looking at this product it could have worked really well in that situation as against the wagos and box it would have been a lot quicker. As I have said early days and looking at it from all angles. Looking forward to a 2.5mm² version rated at 32a. The instructions have a somewhat cryptic statement being "DO NOT COVER" I have emailed the manufacturer to ask for some further information on that statement.Exactly my thoughts
A Hager J803 usually does the trick.Think a good use of these, if they could take 2.5mm (& 32A), is spurring off a cable on a RFC as a through connection. The instance where you can't use a Wago box, 'cos there is not enough slack on the cable, for the two cut ends to go into the one entry of the Connexbox.
No, I can't see a situation where I would need to use them to be honest. Would you be using them?@123 could you see yourself using these?
Maybe not a wagobox or chocbox but it is smaller & proven useful sometimes. That Toolstation joint box looks a right piece of shyte.
It is better than leaving the connectors run free, but not by muchThat Toolstation joint box looks a right piece of shyte.
