Can anyone tell me what the minimum impulse withstand voltage is for a 500AMP BS88 fuse.
I can only find up to 400A.
Please only reply with the answer and not any rhetorical questions please.
This is concerning surge protection devices.
Thanks.

hurry up i finish at 4 today.

Sorry your highness, im busy and didnt realise I had to answer immediately! I bow to you.

I thought it was the equipment (carriers) that had the Uimp rating, not the fuses themselves. I might be wrong though as I'm no expert regarding the requirements for surge protection..

i suspect that you have no idea what youre talking about? lol

Less of that. I was having a laugh with you, there's no need to mug me off is there? Treating me like I'm some kind of idiot is just gonna get my back up isn't it.

Quite right Fella, these members think we should wipe their Backsides immediately, I know the answer actually but there is no way I am telling him.

As confirmed via PM with MDJ, my suspicions regarding the answer were correct. I didn't want to start throwing numbers out there on the off chance that I was wrong considering that surge protection is not my area of expertise.

That said, the answer aint coming from me either!

Yes myself and D Skelton have discussed the answer, we are happy with the outcome, I hope the OP learns some manners next time when asking a question and he or she shows some respect to an electrician with D Skelton's experience and ability. If so they may get an answer next time.

My pennys' worth, I don't think it was meant to be rude just "canteen talk".

that was my opinion anyway.

I think you should tell him the answer

I would be quite happy to tell you :D However some serious brown nosing from the OP will need to be in order before he gets told LOL
