Is there any electrician or apprentice electrician out there who would be willing to come into one of our schools to chat to a small group of students about their job? A lot of the kids we work with are so not interested in school and would love to hear about a job where they could be practical and work with their hands and go out and about and not be stuck in one building the whole time.

Please let us know if you are interested.

brilliant idea. barnet's way out of my area, but i'm sure there's some guys local who would be happy to give you a couple of hours or so. good luck.

very little. having a rest today. . working tomorrow and friday finishing off a rewire. no pressure at the moment.

Love to, how far is Barnet from Northampton? send me a PM

id love to as well but it would be one hell of a long drive for me.
though id probably just giving advice on not giving up and learning as much as they can and not taking short cuts on learning

tell them always learn enough to be very confident in their skills and when they think they have learned enough look for more!
look at things closely and with an open mind, it makes things a whole lot easier to learn!

never let a handicap slow you down (one of my best apprentice's is completely deaf)(wears a rubber glove to listen with his hand) and is quick to find a noisy motor just by feeling the minor vibration from a sticky bearing
