Discuss Installing a two way dimmer light. in the DIY Electrical Advice area at ElectriciansForums.net

Uh hummm, details please @pneme82!

Realised I was looking at the existing switch the wrong way. I was looking at the connections as top and bottom rather than left and right... The blue, yellow and red all to the right handle the light on the stairs, while the red and black towards the right handle the lights down stairs. I failed to see a middle vertical line between them due to cables. I assumed the top three were for one socket and the bottom three on the existing switch were for the other. All done, got the it working. Pics show it just as I want it.

One more thing to add on this case. Not sure if this is normal, but I fitted 100w=125w clear bulb Halogen by Status. When the lights are on and I turn the nobs to the left i.e, it does not completely go off. The only time it goes off is if I push it to turn it off completely. Also there is a buzzing sound which isn't really audible but can be noticed when you come close to the switch. Is this normal?
