Hi folks, I did post months ago about my Isuzu pick ups interior lights not coming on when doors open but I never did any more about it in the summer. Now that the nights are closing in I must get it sorted.
I have a dome and a reading light, both work fine when switched to on but neither come on when any door is opened when the switches are back to 'doors'. I replaced the driver's door jamb switch which did nothing. Also the dash light does not come on when a door is open. I have gone through both fuse boxes and all look fine.
Could anyone tell me if interior lights go through a relay? I will attach a list of the relays and both fuse boxes.
If anyone had an idea what relays to check that would be great. Also can anyone tell me what controls the delayed interior lighting?
Thanks folks

won't be a fuse if they work manually. fault has to be on the door switch side.

I am not sure if this applies to Isuzu but my mercedes has a lux sensor switch setting so the lights only come on when it is dark could that be the case with your set up? i.e. the lux sensor has failed? (if applicable)

If it is the type of multi slide switch interior lamp check that too. You may not be getting a contact here.
It is unusual for all door switches to fail at once, unless this has been a progressive failure.

Thanks ruston, one of the 2 lights is the multi slide type, I'll take it out and clean the contacts. Cheers

Well... no success to report. I took the truck to a pals garage to make sure I was using my meter properly. He was busy but had a quick go. He thinks the door switches are fine. He really didn't have much of a look or think but wonders if it is to do with the 'comfort' or whatever module that will be in it. The fact that the truck knows when the drivers door is open (the buzzer sounds with key in) maybe backs up the fact that the switch is okay. I can't for the life of me find a wiring diagram online but I did find the previous model which may or may not be correct but what I'm curious about is that the wiring goes to an alarm and relay control unit. I really don't know!

Ah. Started following wires just now and this is where they join beside driver's seat.
Many thanks to all those who posted helpful ideas. I am away to do some soldering. And funnily enough the beeping alarm when the door is open and keys in the ignition has nothing to do with the door switches.
