Anybody IR test elements to check decent ?

The power consuming apparatus come under the old PAT regime, can't remember what it's called now, should do but only just got up and not functioning at 100% In service Inspection and testing of electrical equipment, ISITEE.

i never function 100%. it's known in the trade as being past it.
 
tried, but he won't prescribe anything with abv on the bottle.

Never IR test storage heater elements as the are generally not earthed. Only LN connection to element. Generally do a quick resistance check to make sure all elements working. Element resistance generally 66 to 70 ohms. Just divide by number of elements to confirm all elements ok.
 
It's not part of the fixed wiring is it, if you have been asked to do an EICR then the storage heaters are not included in the tests.
 
No not part of EICR just before fitting secondhand ones just to check elements not breaking down at all trying to be thorough that's all. Did a few today with MFT and set to resistance only & getting 73 ohms approx on all tested.
