I’m just wondering is a switch with a neon is okay for functional switching only because I vaguely remember seeing that isolation switches like shower pull cords arnt ment for functional switching same as mcbs I might be wrong
 
I personally wouldn't use one for the very reason you stated, can you not use an ordinary 5 amp switch with an illuminated edge, after looking at table 53.4 I amend my statement

See Table 53.4 of BS7671, the standard you need to look at in this Table is BS EN 60669-1.
