Gordies

Hi I gained my part 1 C&G approx 25 years ago & have been working for an electrical company for approx 14 years
my director is writing a refrence for me for the JIB grading of an electrician, does anyone know what the procedure is.
many thanks.

I believe you download the application form from the web, or phone the JIB and ask them to send one.
You then take the ESC H&S test, when you recieve this, you send it off along with copes of your qualifications, photos, appropriate fee and the reference from your employer.
Then wait and see whay if anything you get back.
You can also phone the JIB and book the test at their headquarters, and get a card the same day.
I believe it costs slightly more, and will take most of the day.

Hi Thanks for the info mogga & spinlondon.
I don't have my 17th edition,i have been working for companies since i left college & i class myself as an electrician
maybe not in the jib's eyes though !!!!. i run my own company now & have various contracts i carry out commercial & industrial work
& i am also in a partnership with a NICEIC company that tests all our work. not sure how much clout this carries with the jib though
hope i dont have to go back to college as the maths side iv'e heard can be a nightmare.my main reason for asking this is i want to
start solar pv but the course says you need 17th edition before you even take the pv course.
