Hi, for the 11 years now that I have been employed as an electrician I've always worked on the cards for a company. However I would like to be able to work on domestic installations In my spare time. Does this mean I have to join a scheme like N.I.C.E.I.C etc.
If so what are the requirements? What's the best one to join? Also heard there is some sort of exam to take. What does this involve?
Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

Just visit the websites for more info on entry requirements. If you're time-served you'll fly through the assessment. I believe you formally only need the 17th Ed qual, but you need a notifiable job to show as part pf your assessment.

You only need to join if you're going to be doing lots of notifiable jobs. You can crack on now and issue certs for non-notifiable work.
