Hey all, need to redirect some half trunking and subsequently the cables inside on a job soon so will need to extend them.

Have no problem with the 2.5/1.5 singles as I will use my much loved wagos (let the arguments begin..), but there are some 16mm and the 10mm singles to join too.
Ideally need to be maintenance free.

What I have 2 ideas, first is crimps, but I find these can come loose over time. Second is terminal blocks or line taps, but these will need to be tightened every so often which just won’t happen.

Any ideas?

I bought a hex crimping tool a while ago after a number of the electricians on this site mentioned that that was a good form of crimp.

For 6mm²+ I use this tool with uninsulated crimps and I am very happy with the results. I feel confident with the termination for this size of cable far more than with a indent crimp.

A good crimp shouldn’t come loose over time.

rry being an oldie, what's half trunking?

I made some kinda bracelets out of 10mm² earth using a crimp with a hydraulic compression. My grandchildren have been testing them to destruction for the last few months twisting them about etc. Still good.
