Hi, my name is Richard, I am in West Sussex and have recently completed a domestic installer course. I am now concidering my options, do I set up as self employed, shadow a spark or sign up to an agency. Any advice will be gratefully received. I would also like to thank everyone at Electricians Forum for their help and advice while studying for my qualification and look forward to more advice and guidance in the future. Keep up the good work everyone.

Hi & Welcome. If you sign up to an agency and manage to get some work from it with no actual on site experience, you will just be binned of after a week or so. You need to try and convince a spark to let you follow them round for a while to try and pickup some experience, the trouble being that you will actually slow down the spark, so you may find that tough. Good luck in whatever you do anyhow.

if you can get electrical mate work just go for it, and just ask if you are not sure what they want you to do, good way in doing it not sounding like a newbe is ask how they like it to be done lol
