Hi, I have bought a Kewtech socket tester for r1 & r2 testing on a megger 1552 but loose connection of the leads into it are giving me unstable readings. The genuine Megger 1552 compatible leads are brand new, as is the Kewtech socket tester. I cannot find a Megger socket tester and am aware that some leads dont go with certain brands ect. Is there a better socket tester to go with megger Leads, or are better leads required ? I read somewhere that the new leads are not that good. Could someone shed some light on this please.

With my Megger 1730, the Megger leads don't work with the Kewtech socket tester and the workaround was to reverse the leads connectors. In the end, when my Megger leads became faulty, I purchased Kewtech ones which work perfect.

megger leads won't work with lightmates either.

Thanks for the responses, would have replied sooner but the interwebs been down. My leads do have removable tips so will try that and reverse the leads trick might help also; cheers guys !

The old style leads used to fit but the new style don't as you say are loose I had the same problem, Megger don't make same sort of socket adapter only lead with 13a plug on it.

Whats the kettle lead ? Do you mean the lead with the 13a plug on the end
Yep the supplied lead with socket. You'll need to null the lead first, if using for continuity tests, I used a single socket with terminals appropriately shorted. But as I said, you still need to use the other leads, to carry out R1+R2 tests at CU, hence I purchased the Kewtech leads.
