Discuss L & N at the switch in the Electrical Wiring, Theories and Regulations area at ElectriciansForums.net

So i heard a fellow sparky saying taking L&N to the light switch is not allowed and is classed as bad practice!
Is this true I've found it a good way to keep things tidy when wiring lots of spots etc.
Thoughts?

I find it's a good way of keeping things messy in a switch back box if you aren't careful.
I have no issue with installing this way if the situation calls for it though.

I install like this when it's appropriate. As Trev says, get him to point out the reg that forbids this method... should be good for a squirm.

You could point out that hager switches have a neutral termination on their light switches. I cant see any problem with this method and use it most of the time myself.

Nothing wrong with that , makes good sense when fittings are compact and avoids concealed joint boxes , good for testing and fault finding as well..

Just remember if using a connector block for neutrals it requires to be fixed to back box,
we just use wago's not fitting back can just be left loose
