Looking to install quite a lot of floodlights for a customer (direct replacement of SONPAKS), been looking at the LED floods which give a good output along with energy saving for the customer

However i have been told by the manufacturer that you cannot use a photocell/retro fit photocell to control the LED flood

Does anyone know a reason as to why? maybe im looking at this in a basic way but surely the photocell is just allowing 240v to pass to the fitting when dusk approaches

thanks

Might not be relay output, then the load might be too low for a triac ( i think i remeber something about a holding current with triac ) however I would assume most photo switches have relay outputs so it should work.

I have already considered a contactor it just wasnt practical for the application ( like for like replacement, keeping costs down on job etc.. )
