Hello to all. New to this forum, because I would like some advice on LED lighting please.
I would like to use a small red LED light, as a prop in a Wizards staff.
Could anyone suggest what sort of light I should use, which ideally would be powered by battery. I would like the batteries to last as long as possible.
If someone would be kind enough to guide me through the wiring etc, I would be very grateful.

Welcome along. Slightly out of range for this forum but:
A simple single red LED would last longest, and could be powered from AA batteries for quite a while, the brighter it is the less time it will last. A translucent cover could be put over the LED to spread out the light more if required. A low value resistor should be put in series with the LED as a ballast to stop the LED burning out through over current, even though the internal resistance of the batteries would act as a ballast rechargeable batteries in particular have low internal resistance.

Get a stick and repeat the words..."Zim Zim Alabim!" very confidently and hey presto stick with light:) But I expect you already know that one.
