hi everybody,would anybody know if there is a specific distance the light switch needs to be away from the door case,looked in regs but cannot seem to find any info ,hope somebody can help many thanks
 
I dont beleive there is a set distance, I've always just tried to get about 4" away from the architrave as this looks about right.
I have seen switches up to 12" away from the door frame, and so close that the architrave had been cut around the switch.

In timber framed buildings it can be difficult to acheive 4" as some door ways have quite a few 2x4 or 2x8 timbers next to each other
