I was testing a db today and found a neutral to earth fault and traced it down to a high bay light. Once unplugged from a pcr2000 the fault cleared. When I disconnect the earth from the light in the db and power it up it doesnt work and there is 240 coming down the earth. When I reconnect the earth it works. I can't get access into the fitting until Monday so I've left it unplugged. Do you think earth and neutral are reversed in the fitting ?

I can't get upto it until I get scaffolding built. We done r1+r2 to the pcr2000s and all was ok.we don't want to fit RCD protection as they are high bay lights in a church. It's a very dangerous situation and I'll be correcting it ASAP. The light has been left unplugged for the time being. We can get access to the plugs as they are above a 30ft ceiling.
