Hi E.F.
I am replacing 3 lighting transformers in my kitchen.
The existing ones plug into 3 x main sockets which are on the AC mains circuit via a light switch and are earthed.
The replacement transformers have no earth connection - do I need to earth the new transformers? If so, how?
It's a DIY project, any pointers appreciated.
Thanks,
Simon

Does the new transformer have a logo, a square within a square? if yes then it's double insulated and doesn't require a cpc.

God help us all

plenty electricians in manc area could wire this up properly 4u. lights fed from 3 13A plugs via light switches is so Romanian.

Hum ..... lighting transformers in 13A sockets ..... op could you post a picky of the new transformer ?

And why not a like for like replacement?

as the sockets are out of the way and not likely to be used for anything else, go with murdoch's advice. fit plugs to the input side of the PSUs. just won't have an earth connection in the plugs. job done.
