Hi to everyone!
Really happy that I can join electrician forum.
I'm from Republic of Moldova and moved to UK for just 6 months. Holding a Master level degree in electrical power engineering with more than 5 years of experience. Start working as a maintenance street lightning electrician and finish my career in RM as a 10 kV power distribution dispatcher. My diploma is not approved in UK and I need to start everything from zero. NARIC can give me a equivalent of my diploma but JIB didn't approve it. Simple, needed to make UK's qualifications.
Looking for a plan how to join the trade, how to find a job with holding only ECS H&S assessment, and what will be the best route to take the jib gold card and become a qualified electrician. Every information will be useful for me. Many thanks for everyone. :)

You only really need a JIB card for building sites and other such jobs. A lot of companies will employ without one as long as you have proven experience carrying out electrical work.

If you have taken years to study for a Masters, albeit outside of the UK, why the change of direction to retrain to work on the tools? Have you looked at engineering opportunities with National Grid or the DNOs, where you could use your existing skillset?

Thank you Tony for your ideas. Of course I need to take a look on what you said. I see some problems with this right now and first of all are my diploma that is not recognized in UK. It will take a lot of time to proof it. At the moment is vital for me to find a job and join the trade. Another one is my adaptation to the new country and to be sincerely, I don't speak English at a fluent level. Hearing and speaking English everyday will improve my ability to understand and discuss freely. So thats why I'm trying to join the trade as a electrician. Working with tools is my passion as well as Engineering.
Did you know how I can confirm my diploma here? From what and where should I start? How long it will can take? Thank you!
