Discuss Makita 24v battery in the Electrical Tools and Products area at ElectriciansForums.net

charge it till charger says charged. run it hard till flat. charge again. assuming it's nicad. if its li-ion, don't matter, just charge and use

Even Li ion batts are limited by the manufacturer to a max number of visits to the charger. Found this out recently and thats on reason they have the chip on the battery

I always treat Ni Mh like a Ni Cad. Fully charge and remove from the charger, although the makita chargers are supposed to only trickle charge once full so you can leave them connected.

Run them until they are unable to power the tool. Not to much that you're making it labour under load, then stick em on charge
